The College Park Skyhawks Game Night Communications Assistant will support game day communications and media relations operations for all 24 Skyhawks home games at Gateway Center Arena @ College Park, including credential management, media services, press conference coordination, and the creation of team publications, while helping ensure a seamless experience for media, staff, and guests throughout the season. This role is estimated to work five hours per game.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hand out media credentials at the media entrance beginning 3 hours prior to tip-off
• Create and distribute single-game and season-long credentials, along with food vouchers for media, TV crew, entertainment, stats crew, agents, and guests for all Skyhawks home games.

• Distribute box scores to Skyhawks bench and media during timeouts, halftime, and postgame
• Help gather players for postgame press conference with media
• Assist PR Coordinator with creation of game notes, postgame recaps, and additional publications

Requirements:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree as a junior or senior, or a recent college graduate

Preferred Qualifications:

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including game days/nights, holidays, and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department
• Demonstrated academic and/or professional experience in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Sports Management, or a related discipline.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills required
• Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail required
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects
• Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative
• Strong team synergy skills and ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over
• Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes
