Skincare is the biggest and important category in Fragrance and Beauty markets in Japan, where domestic brands have successively built the trust and now are becoming more competitive with new product technologies constantly updated.

Product Marketing holds responsibility to be the core of business at CHANEL Japan Fragrance & Beauty Products Division, to drive both brand equity and sustainable business growth.

To archive the responsibility, it is necessary to have a deep understanding of skincare business in Japan, strong brand-building capabilities, and ability to drive engagement and sales.

It is also required to collaborate with internal stakeholders, lead marketing mix for local strategy, and provide insight to global marketing team.

III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: Based on above

Impact at CHANEL

Skincare Marketing Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Develop and lead mid-term strategy to enhance brand image and sales Analyze the competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and gaps
  • Lead new product launch planning and demand forecasting, and supervise execution
  • Manage product lifecycle, assortment and pricing
  • Oversee VMD, SPM, merchandising guideline and visual asset
  • Ensure brand image, tone and positioning are consistently represented at every touch point.
  • Support execute plan in partnership with Event, CRM, PR, Digital, Education, and Retail teams to ensure unity and execution quality
  • Manage/validate promotion expense and optimize return on investment
  • Elevate services and collaborate with key stakeholders
  • Creating and implementing presentations internally and to HQ
  • Manage and guide skincare marketing planner to align and engage in brand vision

The key stakeholders:

  • Japan F&B business team (Local market & Travel retail)
  • Japan Logistics, Marketing Intelligence &Communications, IT, Legal, Finance
  • Global Marketing

The ideal candidate will bring:

Experience in beauty product marketing for 5+ years with prior experience in leading team

Experience in product development or R&I is a bonus

  • Ability to think analytically and holistically, fast-learning and flexible to deal with ambiguity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Skilled in presentation and negotiation in both Japanese and English
  • Familiarity with digital marketing is preferred
