Job Description

This position develops and conducts training programs, orientation, and continuing education for new and current employees specific to a department or function. The incumbent assesses training needs of staff and monitors the effectiveness of the training program. This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Develops and conducts training and regulatory procedures within departments, completes documentation requirements, and department specific computer operations.
  • Provides orientation for all newly hired employees.
  • Creates or obtains training and orientation materials.
  • Identifies and assesses employee skill level and training needs.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of department education and training programs.
  • Maintains documentation of training, education, and new employee orientation.
  • Creates reports of quality management training, educational activities, and program effectiveness.
  • Develops and implements monthly training schedule.
  • Supervises and audits employees daily work.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
  • Demonstrated computer, organization, human relation, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately evaluate employee needs to develop training programs and education materials that are effective and address different skill levels.

Qualifications

Required

  • Six years of progressively more responsible experience in a related area, including one year as a trainer, or equivalency.

Qualifications (Preferred)

Preferred

  • Applicable supervisory training.

  • This position involves intermediate work that may exert up to 50 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects.
