Job Summary:

Comprehensive knowledge applied to performing skilled activities which support manufacturing business needs. Works with relevant functions to select and utilize appropriate resources, tools, machinery and specialty equipment. Thoroughly understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. Acts as a formal resource leading and coordinating others. Quickly and effectively adapts to change in the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system. Ensures all process documents and quality procedures are updated and acts as a resource to provide help to others. Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures. Performs quality inspections. Delivery Fully proficient performing skilled activities expected by their roles in accordance with defined roles and responsibilities. Leads and coordinates others acting as a formal resource for team members with less capability. Performs and documents preventive, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities. Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks. Performs other duties as required to meet business goals. Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.

FANUC Robot Maintenance & Programming Expert responsible for robot programming, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, commissioning, optimization, and continuous improvement of robotic automation systems. The candidate will ensure maximum equipment uptime, support production requirements, and lead automation improvement projects while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Robot Programming & Integration

  • Develop, modify, and optimize FANUC robot programs for manufacturing applications.
  • Create and maintain robot programs using FANUC Teach Pendant and RoboGuide software.
  • Configure robot I/O, Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, DeviceNet, and other communication protocols.
  • Implement robot path optimization to improve cycle time and productivity.
  • Support robot integration with PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, conveyors, and peripheral equipment.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

  • Perform preventive maintenance activities on FANUC robots and controllers.
  • Monitor robot health parameters and implement predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Maintain robot backups, software versions, and parameter files.
  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities and equipment history.

Troubleshooting & Breakdown Support

  • Diagnose and resolve robot faults, servo alarms, communication failures, and motion issues.
  • Troubleshoot FANUC controllers such as R-30iA, R-30iB, and R-30iB Plus.
  • Support emergency breakdown maintenance to minimize production downtime.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Commissioning & Project Support

  • Participate in installation, commissioning, and startup of robotic systems.
  • Validate robot operation, safety interlocks, and process requirements.
  • Support automation upgrades, retrofits, and capacity expansion projects.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, integrators, and cross-functional teams.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for cycle time reduction and productivity improvement.
  • Improve robot reliability, efficiency, and system availability.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions to enhance manufacturing performance.
  • Assist in standardization of robotic maintenance procedures and best practices.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with machine safety requirements and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Maintain robot safety standards including fencing, safety PLCs, and interlocks.
  • Support risk assessments and safety audits related to robotic systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in FANUC robot programming and maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with automotive, heavy engineering, machine tending, welding, assembly, material handling, or palletizing applications.
