Skilled Second ShiftOperatorWanted

Charter Wire’s 81stStreet facility is currently looking to fill a Second Shift (2PM-10PM)manufacturingpositionin our Cold FormingDepartment.Operators will run multiple high-powered machines in a fast-paced, detail-oriented production environment.

What do you need to know about the job?

  • Pay Range- $ 27.00, or higher for highly qualified candidates

  • Shift -This is a Second Shift job, (2:00 – 10:00 PM, M-F)

  • Location - 7850 N. 81stStreet, Milwaukee, WI 53223

What does a Production Operator at Charter Wire do?

Charter Wire’s 81stStreet facility produces parts for global customers and is heavily focused on quality in all positions. This facility has several production areas, each with multiple levels for Production employees to pursue when they’reready for advancement.

Our ColdForm Departmentconsists of Operators whoareresponsible forensuring multiplemachines run smoothly and produce parts that meetvery highcustomer quality requirements. They combine precisionoperationwith a strong attention to detail for quality, performing inspections, basic troubleshooting They partner with Quality and Maintenance to ensure the machines are running efficiently and we can meet our customer commitments.Examples of tasksyou’llperform include:

  • Change coils, change tooling, perform basictroubleshooting,maintain,andoperatemultiple pieces of production equipment.

  • Move material, product, supplies, etc. and transact material movements asrequired

  • Perform preventative maintenance asrequired

  • Maintain an organized and clean work area (sweep, mop, scrub, paint, basic janitorial, restock supplies, etc.).

  • Complete quality control paperwork andidentifyacceptable products.

While not required to be hired, all successful employees in this jobwillbe requiredtolearn the following:

  • Safelyoperatea forklift truck.

  • Independently usequality measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, attribute gauges, etc.).

  • Navigate and enter data inCharter’s statistical process control (SPC) system.

  • Read and interpret blueprints.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent isrequired, but if youdon’thave itthat’sokay! We willpay foryou to get your GED through an accredited program!

  • One year of related experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment that requires mechanical aptitude.

  • You worksafely,you must be able to meet theminimumphysical requirements of the job, with or without accommodation.

  • This includesConstant standing and walking.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, use of fine motor skills, reaching and lifting 30lbs.;periodically may berequiredto lift as much as 50 lbs.

  • Occasional foot use, carrying, push/pulling, climbing, below the waist work, balancing, and forceful motion.

  • To be successful in thisroleyou will need todemonstrateattention to detail and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously isrequired
