Working across lift systems, mechanical equipment, engines, hydraulic systems, snowmaking infrastructure, and mountain grooming, you will apply hands-on technical skills to preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair while supporting the Engineering and Activities teams. This role offers the opportunity to broaden your mechanical expertise through diverse resort applications while building a strong foundation for continued growth in engineering.

What You Will Create

  • A safe and dependable ski operation by maintaining and repairing ski lift controls, safety systems, electrical equipment, and other critical equipment while completing required pre-operation inspections after training

  • Consistent mountain readiness by grooming ski slopes and features and supporting snowmaking operations with equipment, hydrants, fixed gear, snowmaking lines, and related systems throughout the mountain
  • Preventative maintenance that protects equipment performance by identifying developing issues, completing scheduled maintenance, and addressing repairs promptly to reduce disruptions and extend the useful life of resort equipment
  • A coordinated engineering response to changing needs by working independently on assigned priorities, communicating effectively with Engineering Department leadership and the Activities Team, and adjusting work as weather, equipment conditions, and operational demands change
  • Safe, professional technical service by applying sound work practices, maintaining equipment with care, and contributing to an environment where reliable Engineering operations support both guest safety and the mountain experience
  • A foundation for continued technical growth by gaining hands-on experience with specialized ski maintenance systems, expanding troubleshooting capabilities, and developing the practical knowledge that can support advancement within the Engineering Team

What You Can Expect

  • A hands-on technical role supporting ski facilities and mountain operations within a large luxury resort
  • Daily exposure to specialized mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, engine, lift, and snowmaking equipment
  • A varied outdoor work environment where weather, equipment conditions, and guest operations can influence daily priorities
  • Collaboration with Engineering Team associates, leadership, and the Activities Team
  • Seasonal and operational demands that may require days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Extended periods of standing and active work in changing outdoor conditions
  • Opportunities to expand technical skills, learn specialized equipment, and build a long-term career in resort Engineering

What You Bring

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in learning how complex equipment operates
  • Practical troubleshooting and repair skills with the ability to approach mechanical concerns methodically
  • A safety-first mindset and respect for the technical demands of working with electrical, hydraulic, engine, lift, and snowmaking systems
  • The ability to work independently while communicating effectively with Engineering and Activities colleagues
  • Strong organization and attention to detail when completing preventative maintenance and responding to assigned repairs
  • Professionalism, reliability, and a service-oriented approach to supporting resort operations
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn as equipment, weather, and operational priorities change

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of mechanical maintenance and equipment operation experience
  • Working knowledge of mechanical maintenance principles, practices, methods, and materials
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to speak English
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varied outdoor conditions
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work effectively with the Activities Team and other resort departments
