QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering with a minimum of 2–5 years of experience or DAE in Electrical/Mechanical with 5–7 years’ experience may be considered.
  • Site-level MEP supervision for building construction projects.
  • Experience in electrical systems, plumbing networks, firefighting systems, and HVAC installations.
  • PEC registration for engineers is required.


PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge of MEP codes, standards, and installation practices.
  • Ability to interpret shop drawings and resolve on-site issues.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP, MS Excel, and site-level reporting tools.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills with contractors and workers.
  • Strong observational and problem-solving abilities.

The position

The Aga Khan Agency for Habitat Pakistan invites applications for the position of Site/Field Engineer - MEP at its Site Office in Uch Sharif, Multan. The role entails the following key responsibilities and requires candidates to meet the criteria outlined below.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Site Supervision & Execution

  • Supervise daily electrical works, including wiring, switchboards, distribution panels, earthing, lighting, and backup systems.
  • Monitor plumbing and sanitary works, including piping, drainage, water supply, and installation of sanitary fixtures.
  • Oversee installation of HVAC, firefighting, and mechanical systems where applicable.
  • Ensure works are executed in accordance with the approved MEP drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate MEP works with civil/structural activities to avoid conflicts or rework.

Quality Control

  • Inspect and verify incoming MEP materials against approved submittals.
  • Monitor workmanship of contractors and technicians to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Conduct basic on-site tests such as continuity, insulation resistance, and water pressure tests.
  • Document non-conformities and immediately report them to the Supervisor for resolution.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Maintain daily logs of MEP activities, including manpower, equipment, and material usage.
  • Record completed work quantities for verification and contractor billing.
  • Submit daily progress updates to the supervisor.
  • Highlight delays, material shortages, or technical issues at the site level.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Enforce electrical and mechanical safety practices at the site.
  • Conduct toolbox talks for workers regarding MEP-related hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with AKAH’s HSE policies and local codes.
  • Promote safe handling of electrical equipment, pressurized systems, and plumbing works.

Coordination & Communication

  • Supervise subcontractors and skilled workers during installation.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and verify quantities received at site.
  • Support Project Engineer (MEP) during inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Consult with local stakeholders for smooth site operations when required.

Documentation & Record-Keeping

  • Keep updated sets of approved drawings and instructions.
  • Maintain records of inspections, tests, and commissioning activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings for MEP systems.
  • Support the preparation of interim payment certificates through accurate site measurements.

Capacity Building & Support

  • Provide technical guidance to technicians, electricians, and plumbers.
  • Share best practices on safe and efficient installation methods.
  • Support training for operations and maintenance staff for installed systems.
