Job Description

SITECH NorCal has a need for a Sales Manager who can be based at either our Aurora, OR or San Leandro, CA location.

SUMMARY

The SITECH Sales Manager is responsible for the overall performance, development, profitability, and strategic direction of the SITECH sales department. This role oversees the development and execution of annual business plans, sales strategies, inventory management objectives, and customer growth initiatives while ensuring alignment with Peterson's corporate objectives and the goals of manufacturers represented by SITECH. The position provides leadership, coaching, and accountability for the SITECH sales team, manages key manufacturer relationships, maintains responsibility for the department’s profit and loss (P&L) performance, and drives the expansion of SITECH's presence across construction technology and related markets.

• Develop and execute strategic initiatives that achieve annual revenue, profitability, market share, and customer acquisition goals.
• Lead the creation and implementation of annual business plans and growth strategies for SITECH's technology solutions portfolio.
• Identify market opportunities, competitive threats, emerging technologies, and industry trends to support long-term growth.
• Analyze territory performance, product mix, market penetration, and resource utilization to optimize business results.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, industry leaders, manufacturers, and strategic partners.
• Develop customer engagement strategies and determine executive involvement in strategic account management.
• Manage, develop, and mentor the SITECH sales team to achieve individual and team performance objectives.
• Lead the SITECH sales team in achieving company market share, profitability, and inventory turn objectives.
• Hold sales personnel accountable for business plan execution, customer acquisition, revenue growth, and overall sales performance.
• Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Design, manage, and administer sales compensation and commission programs; collaborate with Human Resources to ensure updates are made when necessary.
• Partner closely with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and technology providers to foster strong partnerships and drive strategic and tactical growth initiatives.
• Negotiate special pricing, terms, and programs with manufacturer representatives to maximize profitability and competitiveness.
• Provide accurate forecasts for sales, rentals, and inventory requirements as required by represented manufacturers.
• Maintain full P&L responsibility for the SITECH sales department.
• Manage departmental expenses and operating costs while maintaining a strong focus on profitability and sustainable growth.
• Oversee inventory asset management, inventory turns, and Return on Assets (ROA) performance.
• Partner with Credit and Finance teams to accelerate funding processes and optimize Accounts Receivable performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, and operational standards.
• Partner closely with sales leadership within Peterson’s Earthmoving business unit to ensure alignment across sales and rental operations, attract new customers, and expand market reach.
• Support company initiatives that improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and market penetration.
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
• Travel up to 50% of the time to perform essential job functions at various SITECH, Peterson, customer, and vendor locations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or other closely related field; and a minimum of ten (10) years of directly related sales experience in the construction technology industry for earthmoving heavy equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Required Experience

• 5+ years leading and developing high-performance sales teams.
• Managing department(s) with significant revenue and profitability responsibility, with a proven track record of strategic business growth and year-over-year revenue expansion.
• Developing and executing annual business plans and sales strategies.

Preferred Experience

• Working with construction technology solutions such as global navigation satellite system (GNSS) positioning systems, machine control technologies, reality capture solutions, surveying and positioning technologies, and digital construction workflows.
• Working with marine construction contractors and projects.
• Working with major OEMs and technology manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Trimble, or similar organizations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

The pay range for this position is:

San Leandro, CA: $165,000 - $200,000

Aurora, OR: $150,000 - $180,000

Starting wage will depend on experience and education. This job also participates in a bonus program. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.
