Site Survey Technician (Field Technology)

Location: Midland, TX and surrounding Permian Basin area

Work Type: On-Site / Field-Based

Duration: Initial 6-Week Project with Potential Extension

Travel: Local and regional travel required

Position Overview

We are seeking reliable and technically inclined Site Survey Technicians to support a large-scale infrastructure assessment project across the Permian Basin region. This role is ideal for individuals with IT support, desktop support, field services, networking, or telecommunications experience who enjoy working independently in the field.

Technicians will travel to various remote sites to document existing technology infrastructure, capture photos, collect site information using company-provided devices, and upload findings into a centralized documentation platform.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on field experience with enterprise technology environments while supporting a high-visibility operational initiative with potential follow-on project work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to designated field locations throughout West Texas.
  • Conduct site surveys and infrastructure assessments.
  • Capture and document technology assets, equipment, and site layouts using a company-issued tablet.
  • Take clear photographs of hardware, network equipment, cabling, and site environments.
  • Upload collected information and documentation into a centralized database.
  • Accurately record inventory and technology details.
  • Follow established procedures and quality standards for data collection.
  • Communicate project status and field findings to project leadership.
  • Maintain a professional and safety-focused approach while working in industrial environments.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Desktop Support
  • Field Service Technician roles
  • IT Support
  • Network Support
  • Telecommunications Support
  • Technical Hardware Support
  • Basic understanding of technology infrastructure and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout assigned territories.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and driving on rural or unpaved roads.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with:
  • Cisco routers
  • Cisco switches
  • WAN environments
  • Network infrastructure
  • Hardware installations and maintenance
  • Previous experience performing site surveys, audits, or field assessments.
  • Familiarity with inventory management or technical documentation.

Work Environment

  • Primarily field-based work throughout the Permian Basin region.
  • Travel is required daily.
  • Company-provided rental vehicle for project-related travel.
  • Occasional overnight stays may be required depending on site locations and project assignments.
  • Lodging and approved travel expenses will be covered when overnight travel is necessary.
  • Work will include visits to remote industrial locations and facilities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Midland, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
