Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity through its Indonesia entity, PT AHK Testing Indonesia, who is looking for a Laboratory Supervisor to join our team. PT AHK Testing Indonesia provides independent analysis and inspection services to the metals, minerals, and solid fuels industries. We have a well-earned reputation for our knowledge and professionalism in all aspects of weighing, sampling, and analysis.

The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the site laboratory, ensuring analytical testing is performed safely, accurately, and within agreed turnaround times. This role focuses on leading laboratory personnel, optimizing workloads, verifying data before release, and maintaining compliance with quality standards and HSE requirements. DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Advanced, strong knowledge of laboratory analytical techniques, quality control, and quality assurance principles.
• Good understanding of laboratory instrumentation, including XRF, ICP-OES/ICP-MS, AAS, Carbon & Sulfur Analyzer, and wet chemistry techniques.
• Deep knowledge of laboratory safety practices, HSE requirements, risk assessments, and safe work practices.
• Solid understanding of quality management systems and laboratory documentation (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025).
• Strong ability to interpret analytical data, investigate abnormal results, troubleshoot equipment, and implement corrective actions.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational capabilities to balance resource planning and budgeting.
• Proactive, adaptable mindset, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across departments under pressure.
• Commitment to leading by example with integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
  

Required Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating within an analytical laboratory.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role, managing personnel, allocating workloads, and monitoring performance.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting analytical issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Previous experience within mining, minerals, metallurgical, or commercial testing laboratories is highly preferred.
• Experience supporting 24/7 laboratory operations is considered an advantage.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related scientific discipline.
