We are more than 36,000 people, in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.

Arcadis is seeking a Construction Phase Services (CPS) - Site Lead to support the CPS Lead for Cosburn Station and Bain EEB as part of the Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC) team for the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations (PTUS) project. The Site Lead will play a key role in observing, documenting, and verifying that construction activities are performed in accordance with the Issued For Construction (IFC) drawings, specifications, and design intent.

This position is ideal for a technically minded professional with strong field inspection experience on complex infrastructure projects, particularly in tunneling, underground works, or transit stations.

Role accountabilities:

In this role, you will support the CPS Lead by conducting site inspections of construction works related to Cosburn Station and Bain EEB. You will monitor construction activities closely to ensure they adhere to IFC drawings, technical specifications, and all relevant standards. Your responsibilities include recording and documenting all hold points, witness points, and inspections in accordance with ESDC procedures, maintaining accurate and detailed inspection reports that incorporate photographic evidence and site observations.

You will also develop and maintain inspection and progress trackers to assist the ESDC team in effectively monitoring construction status, documentation, and outstanding actions. Communicating field observations, non-conformances, and potential design-related issues to the Engineer of Record (EOR) and project team will be a key part of your duties. Coordination with the contractor’s representatives will be essential to facilitate inspections, resolve queries, and support design clarifications such as RFIs, NCRs, and Field Change Requests.

Participation in regular site coordination and progress meetings will provide opportunities for you to contribute valuable input on design-related construction matters. Additionally, you will support the design team by reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure they align with site conditions. Throughout all site activities, you will promote Arcadis’ commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship, ensuring these core values are integrated into daily operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, or Construction Engineering Technology
  • 3–6 years of relevant inspection or field engineering experience on heavy civil infrastructure projects such as transit tunnels stations or bridges
  • PEO registration would be an asset but not a requirement
  • Working knowledge of CSA OPSS and relevant municipal and provincial standards
  • Familiarity with design review and ESDC processes in a consulting engineering environment
  • Strong technical understanding of reinforced concrete structures excavation support systems and underground utilities
  • Excellent documentation reporting and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced large-scale project environment
  • Strong ability to multi-task under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining keen attention to detail
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to utilize MS Word Excel tracking software with a valid G license required
