In this role, you will report to the region director of services and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Shift: Monday - Friday, daytime

What we’re looking for
Education: High School Diploma or GED required ; Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, life sciences, engineering or related field preferred
Experience 8+ years of experience in laboratory services, warehouse, logistics or inventory management operations required
5+ years of formal supervisory experience, including supervision of supervisors, required
Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office experience
This position operates across customer and Avantor locations and requires regular travel. Domestic travel expected travel is approximately 30–35%, depending on the account and business needs
Documented track record leading scope-level improvement initiatives with quantified business impact
Managing operating budgets and partnering on account-level financial reviews
Senior customer relationship management in a services or regulated environment
Pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or similar regulated client industries
Advanced proficiency with inventory management systems and analytics platforms
Strong business acumen, including budgeting and commercial fundamentals
Practitioner-level continuous improvement knowledge (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent)
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Power BI, or Tableau (desired) and operational reporting tools
Working knowledge of project and program management methodologies
Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds
Valid driver's license and reliable form of transportation required
Overnight travel is required

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
In this role you will:
Account-Level Operational Leadership
Own account or regional operational delivery, including service level performance, safety, quality, and financial outcomes
Set operational priorities across the supervisor team and monitor execution through structured review cadences
Conduct monthly operations reviews with direct report supervisors and monthly reviews with the Director
Lead major operational events including new site implimitations and significant scope expansions
Serve as the senior operational escalation contact for the account; own resolution of major incidents and exceptions
Own the account or regional operating rhythm and ensure alignment across sites and teams
Senior Customer Relationship & Influence
Serve as the senior operational relationship holder with customer senior leadership including Lab Managers and Procurement Directors
Lead recurring account business reviews with customer senior operational and commercial stakeholders
Influence and persuade customer stakeholders in sensitive and complex situations while preserving long-term relationships
Proactively identify customer needs and translate into service enhancements and scope expansion opportunities
Partner with the Avantor commercial team on renewal strategy, scope expansion and pricing discussions
Represent Avantor in senior customer audits and strategic reviews
Complex Problem Resolution & Cross-Functional Analysis
Lead resolution of problems and issues that require understanding and consideration of other disciplines and job areas
Supervisor Development & Talent Strategy
Conduct full performance management for direct report supervisors including reviews, goal setting and compensation planning
Build and actively manage supervisor succession pipelines across all roles in scope
Coach direct report supervisors on operational leadership, people development, client engagement and strategic contribution
Lead hiring for openings within scope within scope; participate in peer and higher-level hiring
Sponsor development programs, stretch assignments, cross-functional rotations and mentorship for high-potential talent
Partner with HR on complex employee relations, leadership coaching interventions and workforce strategy
Strategic Improvement & Best Practice Leadership
Charter and sponsor the improvement portfolio for the scope, prioritizing initiatives against account strategy and customer needs
Identify opportunities to adopt Avantor and industry best practices and scale across the scope
Lead or sponsor multi-site or multi-team transformation initiatives with quantified business impact
Partner with Business Process Consulting, Quality and other Avantor functions to design and deliver strategic improvements
Contribute to cross-account improvement initiatives and represent the scope in Avantor-wide transformation work
Track and communicate improvement portfolio outcomes to senior client and Avantor leadership
Financial Performance & Commercial Contribution
Own scope-level operating budget including labor, overtime, training, small capital and other operating expense within delegated authority
Partner with Finance and FP&A on monthly financial reviews, forecasts, variance analysis and corrective actions
Contribute to account P&L reviews, renewal planning and new business proposals as the senior operational leader
Identify and execute productivity and cost improvement initiatives aligned with account commercial objectives
Review and approve scope-level workforce actions, compensation recommendations and significant operational decisions per Avantor policy
Safety, Quality & Regulatory Strategy
Own safety, quality and regulatory compliance outcomes across the scope
Lead major incident governance including senior client and internal Avantor notification and response
Partner with senior safety, quality and regulatory leaders on strategic compliance planning and audit readiness
Own the culture of safety across the scope including behavioral safety programs and engagement initiatives
Represent the scope in senior client-led and regulatory audits and inspections
Strategic Planning & Cross-Functional Contribution
Contribute to annual account planning, strategic reviews and new business development as the senior operational voice
Represent Avantor in customer strategic planning sessions where operations input is needed
Partner with peer Managers and Operations Managers on cross-account learning, standardization and strategic initiatives
Represent the scope or account in Avantor-wide leadership forums, talent reviews and cross-functional initiatives
Contribute to Avantor thought leadership, best-practice development and commercial positioning as appropriate
Integrate operational, financial, regulatory and customer considerations into practical solutions
Facilitate complex multi-stakeholder problem-solving across Avantor internal functions, customer teams and external partners
Own major incident response and CAPA oversight for significant operational disruptions
Bring structured analysis and best-practice expertise to complex account-level challenges
