The Site Category Buyer is responsible for owning, developing, and optimizing assigned Indirect
Materials & Services categories (Hard & Soft Services) at the site level. This role
combines category strategy, sourcing execution, and supplier management to deliver best-in-
class total value, minimize risk, and ensure strong operational alignment with site stakeholders.
The position acts as a bridge between site operations and procurement strategy, ensuring that
category decisions directly support business objectives while leveraging global and regional
procurement capabilities.
- Travel requirement: up to 5%, planned

In this role, you will:
Category Ownership & Strategy
- Own and manage assigned Hard & Soft Services categories within Indirect Procurement
- Define and execute category strategies aligned with plant, regional, and global goals
- Lead demand management and specification optimization (challenge requirements to reduce cost and complexity)
- Ensure category decisions support site-specific operational needs
Sourcing & Commercial Execution
- Lead, co-lead, or support sourcing initiatives (RFP/RFQ, e-Auctions, negotiations)
- Develop and implement rate cards, pricing structures, and cost models
- Negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs), terms, and conditions
- Manage contract authoring in collaboration with legal and stakeholders
Supplier Management & Performance
- Build and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers
- Maintain accurate supplier records (including SCO documentation)
- Lead supplier performance management, including scorecards and KPIs
- Establish and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) where applicable
- Serve as the escalation point for supplier issues (service, delivery, commercial disputes)
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate daily with engineering, operations, finance, and site leadership
- Align category strategies with site operational goals and priorities
- Partner with Procurement Operations, Category Management teams, and leadership
Continuous Improvement & Value Creation
- Drive cost savings (SRT), innovation, and working capital improvements
- Lead/support Kaizen workshops and process improvement initiatives
- Ensure adoption of best-in-class procurement processes and systems
- Leverage global and local markets for cost, quality, logistics, and innovation optimization
You have: (required)
- 3 or more years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience with a focus on Indirect Materials and Services (maintenance, facilities, engineering services, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, finance, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in category management and strategic sourcing.
- Proven track record in contract negotiation and management.
- Experience with supplier performance management.
- Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Authorizations from the relevant government agency may be required to meet export control compliance requirements.
Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)
- MBA or related field graduate degree.
- Professional certifications (CPSM, CSCP, CPIM)
Strong understanding of cost modeling, pricing structures, and total cost of ownership (TCO)
Proficiency withMicrosoft Excel
Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization, influencing sites, regional, and global stakeholders
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
Experience managing Hard & Soft Services categories specifically (e.g., maintenance, construction, facilities, HR services, IT services)
Experience developing rate cards, cost models, and service pricing frameworks
Background in Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen continuous improvement methodologies
Experience leading supplier business reviews (QBRs) and strategic supplier development
Exposure to global sourcing strategies and regional category alignment
Experience with procurement digitization or automation tools
