As our Site Security Controller, you will play a pivotal role in protecting Northrop Grumman UK’s people, facilities, information and reputation across our Defence Operating Unit in New Malden and our UK Headquarters in Central London.

Operating at the heart of our security function, you will lead the management and maintenance of security policies, procedures and controls that underpin our accredited government-sponsored facilities. Working closely with customers, government stakeholders, facilities, compliance teams and senior leaders, you will help ensure our business remains secure, compliant and ready to deliver mission-critical capabilities.

This is an opportunity to influence security strategy, drive best practice, and act as a trusted security advisor within a highly respected defence organisation. Your work will directly support the growth and success of Northrop Grumman UK while enabling our teams to deliver critical solutions to customers across the defence sector.

What You'll Be Doing

You will:

  • Lead the security governance and compliance activities for our New Malden and London sites, ensuring continued certification and accreditation of operational facilities.
  • Build strong relationships with Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) Principal Security Advisors and other key stakeholders to maintain robust security standards.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate security policies, procedures and awareness initiatives that promote a strong security culture across the business.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of physical, personnel and information security controls, identifying opportunities for improvement and risk reduction.
  • Manage security incidents, investigations and audit activities, ensuring timely reporting, escalation and resolution of security risks and non-compliance issues.
  • Act as Crypto Custodian for the Defence Operating Unit and provide leadership, guidance and support to local security personnel and wider business teams.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in hearing from people who can demonstrate:

  • Significant experience operating as a senior security representative within a defence, government or highly regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Government security standards, policies and frameworks, including JSP 440, GovS 007 and related security guidance.
  • Experience developing, implementing and improving security policies, standards and compliance processes.
  • Expertise across physical security, information security and personnel security controls.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and balance security requirements with business objectives.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with experience leading change, managing competing priorities and working independently.

Desirable experience includes:

  • Previous experience within a UK Ministry of Defence environment.
  • Knowledge of Defence Nuclear security controls and associated regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing security investigations and responding to complex security incidents.
  • Experience leading or line managing security teams.
