The role

We are seeking an experienced SiteLead Design Engineeras the representative of the Design Partner of an alliance for the construction works of a significant dam improvement project in Queensland, based in the Toowoomba region.

This will be minimum two-year contract and based on site.

The construction includes embankment dam crest raising, free flow ogee spillway with chute and basin widening plus related works such as roads, diversion etc. This role will be supported by at least three construction phase supervision staff, providing coverage across key design aspects including structural, geotechnical, and geological considerations. In addition, the role will be further supported by the design discipline leads based in their respective home offices, who will also attend site on an ad hoc basis as required.

As the Site Representative of the Design Partner of the Alliance you will provide:

  • Reviewing completed works and confirming that they have been delivered in accordance with the design intent and technical specifications.
  • Providing responses to design queries from the Contractor regarding design changes or site adaptations, with support from both the site team and the head office team.
  • Working collaboratively with the Contractor to ensure the design is fully and correctly implemented on site.
  • Supporting and assisting the Contractor in addressing construction methods and decisions where design considerations are involved.

You will possess:

  • 10+ years’ experience in a relevant field of expertise (embankment dam and related structures, construction/design)
  • A degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Dam or Structural Engineering
  • RPEQ and previous site experience is essential
