
The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior leadership position responsible for driving engineering excellence through team leadership, strategic technical direction, and a strong foundation in modern DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. This role leads by example — fostering a culture of reliability, automation, and continuous improvement across the organization, with a forward-looking emphasis on leveraging AI to advance SRE capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Lead & Develop Engineering Teams: Manage and mentor software engineers, providing guidance across technology disciplines, conducting performance evaluations, and supporting hiring and talent development decisions.
Drive DevOps & SRE Culture: Champion DevOps principles and SRE practices across the organization — including infrastructure-as-code (IaC), observability, incident management, and reliability engineering.
Ensure Platform Reliability & Resilience: Define and uphold service reliability standards (SLOs/SLAs/SLIs), lead incident response and post-mortem processes, and drive continuous improvements to system availability and performance.
Advance SRE with AI: Leverage AI and machine learning capabilities to enhance SRE practices — including AI-driven anomaly detection, predictive incident management, intelligent root cause analysis, and automated remediation to improve platform reliability and reduce toil.
Architect Scalable, Cloud-Native Solutions: Lead the design and implementation of systems built on modern technology stacks — including cloud platforms, microservices, and containerization — grounded in strong computer science and systems design fundamentals.
Solve Complex Technical Challenges: Analyze and resolve complex technical issues with sound, strategic decision-making and a focus on long-term maintainability and scalability.
Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with senior leaders, product teams, and external stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business goals and deliver impactful outcomes.
Foster a Collaborative Team Environment: Cultivate a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in system development, platform engineering, or related technology disciplines.
Demonstrated success leading large-scale technology initiatives with measurable, impactful results.
Strong background in DevOps and SRE practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure automation, observability (logging, metrics, tracing), and incident management.
Experience applying AI and machine learning techniques to SRE workflows, such as predictive alerting, anomaly detection, automated root cause analysis, or intelligent remediation.
Hands-on experience with enterprise cloud platforms, containerization and container orchestration, and microservices architecture.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools and modern deployment pipeline technologies.
Solid understanding of system design, software engineering best practices, and testing methodologies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong problem-solving and strategic technical decision-making capabilities.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
