Job Description
Audubon is currently seeking a Site Purchasing Agent to join our team in our Off Site Office. The Site Purchasing Agent manages the purchase, tracking, negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies on jobsite.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reaches out to vendors and suppliers to negotiate materials and create relationships.
- Inform construction personnel regarding vendor and product issues and liaise with vendors as needed to resolve disputes; timely rectify issues as warranted.
- Establish pricing and costs to be used by the Estimating Department.
- Assist in setting up purchase orders or assist with receiving
- Compare and evaluate quality of the material and equipment needed and make a sound decision on what to purchase.
- Maintain integrity with all onsite purchases.
- Create a log of materials, equipment, supplies, chemicals, and assets that are onsite.
- Know where all purchased items are to be received and advise when they arrive.
- Be in constant communication with construction manager, superintendents, and project manager on how much has been purchased.
- Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement documentation.
- Resolve material discrepancies or delays with vendors and assist warehouse craft with any data that they may need about arrivals.
- Occasionally gets materials or supplies when it is immediately needed.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:
- All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
- Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
- Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
- Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
- Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Commercial Driver’s License required.
- Two years' experience in the construction industry.
- Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.
- Construction safety practices.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and HSE guidelines.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and general office systems.
- Occasionally moving, kneeling, crouching, and carrying weights 30 lbs.
- Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
- Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train others on proper work and safety procedures.
- Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
