Job Description

Be the Backbone of Recycling: Join Us as a Site Operative

Location: Burgess Hill

Summer - any 5 days in 7 - all week (inc. Sat & Sun) & Winter - closed Thursday

HWRS Summer - 8.45am to 6.15pm
HWRS Winter - 8.45am to 4.15pm (closed Thurs)

£12.40 per hour.

As a Site Operative, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our recycling centre runs safely and efficiently. From assisting visitors to maintaining the site, your work will help create a cleaner, greener community.

Your core responsibilities.

  • Support the day-to-day operations and ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Assist visitors in sorting and recycling waste effectively.
  • Keep the site clean, safe, and organized.
  • Prevent commercial and non-compliant waste from entering the site.
  • Promote recycling by maximizing waste segregation wherever possible.
  • Be part of a team making a tangible impact on the environment and the local community.
  • Gain hands-on experience working in a dynamic, outdoor environment.
