We are seeking a visionary Site Managing Director to lead our Thunder Bay operations through a pivotal period of transformation and growth. This role extends beyond managing today's factory. It requires a leader who can strengthen the execution of current refurbishment and aftermarket programs while building the operational capabilities, leadership culture, and production systems needed to support future manufacturing programs.

The successful candidate will create an environment defined by safety, quality, accountability, disciplined problem-solving, and continuous improvement while helping shape the future of sustainable mobility in Canada.

Your Role, Your Impact

Lead end-to-end site operations, ensuring alignment with Alstom's production strategy while delivering safe, high-quality, and predictable operational performance. Drive operational transformation by establishing rigorous management systems that connect Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People metrics with clear accountability and measurable outcomes.

Improve current refurbishment and aftermarket programs by enhancing throughput, production flow, labor productivity, schedule adherence, and quality performance. Foster cross-functional collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Industrialization, Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, and Project Management to ensure integrated execution and faster problem resolution.

Champion first-pass quality and quality at the source through structured problem-solving, root-cause corrective action, and continuous improvement initiatives. Lead the site's readiness for future production programs by strengthening industrialization, capacity planning, workforce development, manufacturing processes, and production ramp-up strategies.

Build organizational capability by developing leaders, strengthening succession pipelines, engaging frontline employees, and promoting a culture where issues are surfaced early, ownership is clear, and commitments are delivered.

What You Bring

• Significant senior leadership experience within complex manufacturing, industrial, or operations environments.
• Demonstrated success leading operational transformation, performance improvement, production ramp-ups, industrialization, or turnaround initiatives.
• Deep expertise in manufacturing fundamentals including safety, quality, throughput, capacity planning, bottleneck management, labor productivity, supply chain, industrialization, and cost management.
• Strong proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and structured problem-solving techniques.
• Experience leading within unionized or represented workforce environments and building constructive labor relationships.
• Exceptional critical thinking skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions, identify root causes, and translate complex operational issues into actionable priorities.
• Proven ability to develop talent, align cross-functional teams, and create high-performing organizations that deliver sustainable results.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and a commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.

• Improved first-pass quality, reduced rework, and elimination of recurring operational issues through sustainable corrective actions.
• Increased throughput, productivity, schedule adherence, and production flow efficiency.
• Successful execution of current refurbishment and aftermarket programs while preparing the site for future production programs.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and organizational alignment across all site functions.
• Development of leadership capability, workforce engagement, and succession depth across the organization.
