Help us make a difference as a Site Manager

A quick look at the role.

The Site Manager is responsible for maintaining, developing and growing the site with regards to identifying and implementing new and best practices to provide a first class customer service and industry best in class, secure disposal offering.

One of the main responsibilities is to operate Biffa’s Aerosol Recycling Plant within the sites permit and planning controls to ensure that legislative requirements are met and to ensure the health and safety of all customers, site staff and contractors working on or visiting the site.

Your core responsibilities.

  • Overseeing the secure destruction of client’s material, delivering excellent service and provide the client with a genuine ‘Confidence in Biffa’ approach.
  • Ensuring the infrastructure is in place to enable the business to be able to respond quickly and effectively to client’s needs.
  • Striving for continual improvement in performance of the site and contracts to the advantage of the client and our business related to EBIT targets.
  • Developing long term strategic plans in conjunction with the Regional General Manager based upon the Division’s annual Business Plan, as well as managing day to day operations on a short terms basis.
  • Maintaining site permit requirements and other legislative requirements to ensure they are compliant and managed appropriately
  • Liaising with all regulating bodies (EA) and any local authorities to ensure compliance and maintain positive working relationships with the local area and populous
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to add stakeholder value as well as driving down costs to improve EBIT without compromising on safety

Requirements

Our essential requirements.

  • COTC 4MTSH or working towards (Essential)
  • IOSH / NEBOSH (desirable)
  • Experience working in a transfer station, MRF or similar environment
  • Significant people and health & safety management
  • Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPI’s
  • Profit and Loss experience
  • Knowledge of existing and impending environmental and health and safety legislation environment.
  • Waste industry knowledge including relevant laws.
