At our Epping site, you’ll drive performance across production, maintenance, SHE, people leadership, cost & capex management. You’ll be the key force ensuring the site runs safely, efficiently, and to the highest operational standards.

You’ll champion reliable, on‑time, in‑spec manufacturing for our customers while fostering a strong safety culture and overseeing the effective delivery of engineering and maintenance programs. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll shape site performance, develop your team, and influence continuous improvement across the operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations to meet production, quality, and regulatory targets.
  • Lead and support the integration of people, processes, and systems into IXOM’s operating model.
  • Manage and develop the site operations team, driving engagement, accountability, and capability.
  • Deliver production plans and sales targets through effective operational control.
  • Lead SHE compliance and continuous improvement in line with IXOM standards.
  • Ensure full adherence to all statutory, licence, and dangerous goods requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with regulators and local community stakeholders.
  • Oversee safe storage and handling of flammable and combustible liquids.
  • Ensure all products meet customer quality and delivery specifications.
  • Build strong internal networks and foster a high‑performance, safety‑first culture.
  • Manage fixed‑cost budgets and forecasts to achieve financial KPIs.
  • Lead CAPEX planning, prioritisation, business case development, and project delivery.
  • Support maintenance strategy to maximise plant uptime and manage critical spares.
  • Oversee inventory management, including SKUs, BoMs, stock counts, and SAP accuracy.
  • Embed IXOM’s safety culture through training, incident management, and compliance.
  • Develop training programs and cross‑functional capability across the site.

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience leading teams on a Major Hazard Facility (MHF) site, with strong understanding of associated compliance, safety, and operational requirements.
  • Experience supporting integration or transformation of smaller operations into larger organisational systems and standards.
  • Experience in continuous or batch chemical processing, ideally involving dangerous goods and flammable products.
  • Solid understanding of DG, EPA and WHS legislation, with confidence engaging regulators and auditors.
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to set expectations, coach performance, and build capability.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, reporting, and preparing project expenditure proposals.
