Location: Mick George Contracting sites – which will vary across the country
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 6am -6pm, Saturdays as and when required 6am – 1pm
Pay: Dependent on experience.

Role Purpose
The Site Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of assigned site operations, including leadership of site teams, delivery of programme targets, quality assurance, and compliance with all safety and environmental requirements. The role requires strong leadership, technical competence, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all day-to-day earthworks and stabilisation site operations.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with RAMS, specifications, and legal requirements.
- Supervise Site Supervisors, Foremen, operatives, and subcontractors to achieve programme targets.
- Manage site logistics, access routes, material movements, and work sequencing.
- Review and approve timesheets, workforce allocations, and labour resources.
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and support workforce development.
- Maintain accurate site records, diaries, reports, GRNs, and weekly progress updates.
- Oversee plant and equipment utilisation, inspections, maintenance, and compliance.
- Ensure quality standards are met through testing, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Promote and enforce high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Manage materials, deliveries, stock control, waste prevention, and resource efficiency.
- Act as the key operational liaison between project teams, clients, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Support the Contracts Manager with NEC4 and JCT contract obligations
- Monitor subcontractor performance, safety compliance, and quality standards.
- Support commercial awareness by identifying risks, variations, and contractual impacts.
- Plan labour, plant, materials, and site activities to maintain productivity and programme delivery.
- Identify and mitigate risks, including weather, access issues, breakdowns, and supply shortages.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, and project performance.
- Complete any ad-hoc requests given by management
Skills & Qualifications Required
- At least 3 years' experience in Earthworks management
- Good knowledge of health, safety and environmental laws.
- Experience with NEC4/JCT
- Competent in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint).
- CSCS Black/Gold Card
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and engage workforce
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and workload management abilities, delivering high-quality results within deadlines.
