Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished Sanand Site Maintenance Leader to lead the maintenance strategy, asset reliability, and infrastructure development for a large state of the art heavy manufacturing facility specializing in nuclear turbines and generators.
This executive leadership role is responsible for ensuring world-class maintenance performance across an existing brownfield manufacturing facility while supporting significant site expansion initiatives. The successful candidate will drive maintenance excellence, operational transformation, asset reliability, and organizational capability, ensuring the site is positioned for long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Asset Management

  • Develop and execute the site's maintenance strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead and stretgize all maintenance functions, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & utilities.
  • Drive preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability and asset performance.
  • Improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), plant reliability, maintenance productivity, and lifecycle asset management.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements, including nuclear quality standards where applicable.

Brownfield Operations & Site Expansion

  • Lead maintenance activities within an operating brownfield manufacturing environment while minimizing production disruption.
  • Support major site expansion and capital investment projects from design through commissioning and operational handover.
  • Provide maintenance and reliability expertise during equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and startup.
  • Develop long-term maintenance strategies for newly installed manufacturing assets and infrastructure.

Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead enterprise-wide maintenance transformation initiatives focused on reliability, digitalization, operational excellence, and cost optimization.
  • Implement best practices in Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM)
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

Leadership & People Management

  • Build, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing maintenance organization consisting of engineers, supervisors, planners, and skilled trades.
  • Create a strong performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, employee engagement, and leadership development.
  • Develop succession plans and strengthen organizational capability through coaching and mentoring.
  • Act as a visible and influential leader who effectively manages change across the organization.
  • Successfully lead within a unionized manufacturing environment, fostering positive labor relations while maintaining operational excellence.

Financial & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage maintenance operating budgets, CAPEX investments, contractor performance, and asset lifecycle costs.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, and Project teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership regarding asset investments, modernization, and long-term maintenance planning.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering
  • 20+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience within heavy manufacturing or process industries.
  • Demonstrated success leading maintenance organizations in industries such as nuclear, power generation, turbine manufacturing, heavy engineering, steel, mining, oil & gas, aerospace, or other capital-intensive manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience managing brownfield manufacturing facilities and supporting large-scale expansion or capital investment projects.
  • Strong expertise in asset management, reliability engineering, predictive maintenance, maintenance planning, and operational excellence.
  • Experience leading large multidisciplinary maintenance organizations and managing complex contractor networks.
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational transformation and change management initiatives.
  • Experience working in unionized manufacturing environments with strong employee and labor relations skills.
  • Six Sigma Black belt Certification will be an added advantage
