Job Description

Role: General Foreman
Client: Main Contractor
Project: High-rise Commercial
Essentials: Similar experience within Commercial Construction in Ireland; experience managing subcontractors, onsite teams, health & safety and quality standards, Safe Pass, Manual Handling Cert.
Location: Galway
Salary: €65,000 - €75,000

Our client, a leading commercial developer, is seeking an experienced Foreperson to assist with the delivery of a high-profile hotel project in Galway City. The development requires a highly capable professional to monitor day to day activity and uphold exceptional health & safety standards—an area in which the company has received multiple industry awards.

  • Site Coordination: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of trades and subcontractors on site to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Technical Compliance: Ensure all works are executed in line with drawings, specifications, and agreed programme requirements.
  • Health & Safety Support: Assist the Site Manager in upholding and enforcing robust health and safety standards across the site.
  • Programme Monitoring: Track work progress and promptly report any issues or risks that may impact programme delivery.
  • Logistics & Materials Handling: Support the coordination of site logistics, including deliveries, storage, and movement of materials.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with health & safety procedures and company policies at all times.
  • Site Communication: Deliver daily briefings and toolbox talks to site personnel to reinforce safety and programme priorities.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily logs and records of site activities.
  • Quality Control: Identify, document, and report any snagging, defects, or quality issues to the Site Manager for resolution.
  • Site Standards: Promote and maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation, and overall site presentation.
