Job Description

Position Title: Site Fleet Controller

Location: Kilinto

Job Purpose

This role is response for managing all company heavy-duty and medium vehicles in Fuel management, tire management and repair and maintenance administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all fleet activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, including inspections and permits.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the fleet, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Supervise and train a team of drivers, promoting a culture of safety and efficiency.
  • Follow-up mandatory training for drivers.
  • Tracking driving violations (Over speeding, Harsh Acceleration, harsh Breaking, Night driving), creating violations dashboard for all trucks.
  • Track trucks and validate driver’s licenses with the security department.
  • Manage and implement vehicle maintenance schedules from fleet planning and controllers, ensuring all vehicles are sent for service and repaired timely.
  • Execute vehicle handovers between drivers, ensuring all vehicles and equipment’s are properly taken over and handed over.
  • Coordinate with Fleet manager on maintenance of vehicles and equipment’s.
  • Inspect vehicle tires on weekly basis, ensure all truck tires are in good condition, and with valid tire tags and serial numbers.
  • Follow-up tire retreading efficiency, number of tires re-treaded, collect data from the retreading, tire storekeeper and report on weekly basis.
  • Follow-up trucks in garage for their maintenance, ensuring all vehicles are serviced collected timely.
  • GPS tracking (telematics).
  • Support daily order planning with the transportation planner.
  • Daily tracking drivers journey plans before departure from brewery.
  • Daily tracking driver’s breakdown on route and take corrective measure in collaboration with Fleet Manager
  • Weekly Trucks inspection with fleet condition and reporting the findings.
  • Fleet invoices collection from supplier/service providers upon completion of repair and maintenance.
  • Fuel management: Ensure all HDV and MDV trucks must start Journey with fully filled fuel tanker upon truck tanker capacity, advise/ issue route-based fuel amount for a trip and ensure truck return to original location with fully filled tanker.
  • Reconcile the fuel consumption of each truck per trip and report any deviation to Fleet manager for variance settlement from drivers’ salary.
  • Tracking monthly fuel consumption and report per individual vehicle.
  • Analyse fleet performance data and generate reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • DCS meeting and update all files accordingly.
  • Provide daily, Weekly and monthly reports R&M compliance versus plan, trucks inspection reports and deviations, Fuel consumption reports.
  • Make deployments of transportation planning activities and suggest improvements in safety, processes and assets
  • Provide input for DCS where necessary.
  • Actively be part of the team. We only win together. Work on personal development via own PDP.
  • Actively drives a customer-centric culture and ensures cross-functional alignment.
  • Provide Warehouse & transport manager reports on R&M compliance, inspection compliance, Fuel reports.
  • Ensure that all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of team.

Job Requirements

Experience and Skills

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in fleet management-related operations.
  • Computer skills: Excel, Word, knowing how to manipulate an ERP system
  • Computer skills: good command of MS Office.
  • Good knowledge of Ethiopian legislation in transport and insurance
  • Innovative, detail-oriented
  • Good understanding of planning, order management, Transportation management and warehousing.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret research data.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of the commercial and supply chain processes
  • Capable of using advanced Logistics tools
  • Ability to influence, establish and maintain collaborative partnerships.
  • Financial understanding

Education

  • TVET level 3 Automotive engineering or higher on related fields

Special conditions:

  • Available, in case of emergencies, 24 hours, 7 days per week.
  • Available to frequent travelling (when needed) to the different parts of the country and abroad
