Job Description

Our client, a leading civils and utilities contractor, is seeking a Site Engineer to join their team on a large-scale infrastructure project based in Roscommon The project is expected to run for over three years, offering long-term career development and exposure to complex civil works. The successful candidate will play a key role in site coordination, setting out, and ensuring quality and safety standards are upheld throughout the project lifecycle.

To be successful in this role, the preferred candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a site engineering role, with strong technical capabilities and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform setting out and surveying duties in accordance with project specifications.
2. Coordinate daily site activities and subcontractor operations.
3. Monitor progress and ensure works are completed to required standards.
4. Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs and as-built drawings.
5. Ensure compliance with health & safety and environmental regulations.
6. Liaise with the design team to resolve technical issues.
7. Conduct quality checks and inspections throughout the build.
8. Assist in preparing method statements and risk assessments.
9. Support the Site Manager and Project Engineer with reporting and planning.

Requirements:

1. Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a site engineering role.
3. Proficient in setting out using GPS, Total Station, and AutoCAD.
4. Strong understanding of construction methodologies and site operations.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
