Our client is seeking an experienced Site Engineer for a rail infrastructure project based in Cork. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established contractor delivering critical rail works in a live environment. The successful candidate will have strong setting out experience within rail and must be PTS qualified, with a solid understanding of rail safety and site procedures.
Responsibilities
• Setting out and surveying works in accordance with project drawings and specifications
• Ensuring all works are carried out in line with rail safety standards and PTS requirements
• Coordinating with site management, subcontractors and rail personnel to ensure smooth project delivery
• Managing quality control procedures and maintaining accurate site records
• Assisting in the preparation of method statements and risk assessments specific to rail works
• Monitoring progress against programme and reporting on any delays or issues
• Liaising with design teams to resolve technical queries on site
• Supervising and overseeing subcontractor works to ensure compliance with specifications
• Ensuring adherence to health and safety policies in a live rail environment
Requirements
• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• PTS Qualified with proven rail project experience
• Minimum 2 years experience in a Site Engineer role, ideally within rail infrastructure
• Strong setting out experience using Total Station and GPS equipment
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations within rail environments
• Strong communication and organisational skills
