Site Engineer – Ballina, Co. Mayo

A Public Sector client of ours is seeking a Site Engineer to join their team in Ballina, Co. Mayo, supporting the delivery of drainage maintenance and civil engineering works across the West region.

This role offers the opportunity to work on essential infrastructure projects, including flood management, drainage systems and associated civil works. The successful candidate will bring strong site experience and the ability to manage day-to-day operations across active sites.

Role Details

• Location: Ballina, Co. Mayo
• Hourly rate: €35 – €45
• Working hours: 35–40 hours per week
• Contract: 12-month contract with potential for extension

Responsibilities

• Deliver drainage maintenance and civil engineering works across assigned sites
• Set out works using GPS, Total Station and levelling equipment
• Supervise direct labour and subcontractors on site
• Monitor works to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments
• Ensure all works are carried out in line with health and safety standards
• Track progress and report on site activities to senior engineers
• Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors and external stakeholders
• Support contract administration and documentation as required

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a site-based engineering role
• Strong setting out experience using GPS or Total Station
• Experience working on civil, drainage or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations on site
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel locally
