Job Description

Our client is seeking a Site Engineer to join the team on a major civil infrastructure project based in Castleisland, Co. Kerry. This role involves supporting the delivery of groundworks, utilities, and structural works, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with design specifications. The successful candidate will work closely with the site management team to maintain progress and quality on-site. To be successful, the preferred candidate will possess strong setting-out skills, a solid understanding of civil engineering principles, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Set out works accurately in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
• Monitor and report on progress, quality, and safety compliance on-site.
• Liaise with subcontractors and site operatives to ensure efficient execution of works.
• Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, QA documentation, and as-built drawings.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and provide engineering support to the site team.
• Conduct inspections and testing of materials and workmanship.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the project management team to ensure timely delivery of resources.
• Support the implementation of project-specific quality and environmental plans.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a site engineering role, ideally on infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in setting out using GPS, total station, and other surveying equipment.
• Strong knowledge of groundworks, utilities, and civil construction methods.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
