We knuckle down when it counts, then share the wins together. Good Work means high expectations, low ego – you’ll be trusted with real responsibility, given honest feedback, and backed to grow. We care about how we get the job done, not just the outcome.

About the role

We’re looking for a Site Engineer to join our team in Invercargill for a wharf repair project supporting a heavy industrial client.

We’d ideally like someone based in Invercargill That said, we know good people are worth being flexible for. We’re open to location flexibility and fly-in fly-out or rotational arrangements for the right candidate, assessed case by case Our preference is someone based in Christchurch if rotating, with Dunedin also workable.

  • Coordinate Site activities across piling, concrete repair, and associated structural works.

  • Assist With planning, sequencing, and short-term programming in a live marine construction environment.
  • Prepare And maintain quality documentation including ITPs, QA records, inspections, as-builts, and site reporting.
  • Monitor Safety, environmental, and quality performance, and raise issues early when something needs attention.
  • Help Coordinate plant, materials, and subcontractor activities to support smooth delivery.
  • Build Strong working relationships on site and contribute to a team culture that is flat, friendly, and focused on doing Good Work.
  • Support The Project Engineer and Project Manager with progress tracking, reporting, and site-based problem solving.

We’re looking for someone with

  • Experience as a Site Engineer role on civil, structural, or marine construction projects.
  • Exposure to piling, concrete, and structural repair works, ideally in challenging site environments.
  • Marine experience would be a real plus, but it’s not essential.
  • A Practical understanding of working around live construction activities and coordinating multiple moving parts.
  • Confidence Working closely with site crews, subcontractors, and specialist teams, including around over-water works.
  • A Strong commitment to safety, quality, and doing the job properly.
  • A Collaborative, low-ego approach and willingness to pitch in where needed.
  • Clear Communication skills, good site awareness, and a proactive mindset.
  • The Ability to carry out the inherent requirements of the role and be comfortable working on active construction sites and around marine environments.
