This Data Center Engineer role involves assisting with the safe operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems within data centers. The position supports authorizing and overseeing electrical works, ensuring compliance with safety rules and procedures. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to safety permitting, and help maintain high standards of operational safety. The engineer will help administer safe systems of work and support audits to ensure compliance with electrical safety standards. They will assist in training and assessing staff and suppliers under supervision, learning to interpret and apply complex safety rules. The engineer will participate in oversight activities, including competence vetting and supporting the implementation of safety permitting processes. 0-2 Years experience in electrical engineering or data center operations. Bachelors degree in engineering (preferably electrical). Recognised craft Apprenticeship or training scheme in electrical engineering. Strong understanding of electrical safety in critical environments. Action-orientation, customer focus, and teamwork. Ability to interpret safety rules and procedures.
