Job Description

Our client, a Tier 1 main contractor, is seeking a Site Engineer to join their team on a mixed-use development project located in Galway City This is a long-term opportunity to work on a high-profile build, contributing to the successful delivery of residential, commercial, and public infrastructure elements. The successful candidate will play a key role in site coordination, setting out, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

To be successful in this role, the preferred candidate will have 2+ years of experience in a site engineering role, with strong technical knowledge and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform setting out and surveying duties in line with project specifications.
2. Coordinate daily site activities and subcontractor operations.
3. Monitor progress and ensure works are completed to required standards.
4. Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs and as-built drawings.
5. Ensure compliance with health & safety and environmental regulations.
6. Liaise with the design team to resolve technical issues.
7. Conduct quality checks and inspections throughout the build.
8. Assist in preparing method statements and risk assessments.
9. Support the Site Manager and Project Engineer with reporting and planning.

Requirements:

1. Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a site engineering role.
3. Proficient in setting out using GPS, Total Station, and AutoCAD.
4. Strong understanding of construction methodologies and site operations.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
