The Project
UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.
We are looking for a Site Engineer (Tower Assembly & Erection) to join our team onsite.
Please note this role is a FIFO position to Wagga Wagga. Local applicants are highly considered.
HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.
The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.
What will a day in this role look like:
The Site Engineer - Assembly & Erection is responsible for overseeing and managing the construction and installation of structures, machinery, or equipment on the project site.
Your duties/responsibilities will typically include:
· Review project specifications, prepare for assembly activities, and ensure availability of necessary resources.
· Oversee the assembly and erection of structures or equipment, ensuring alignment with technical plans.
· Inspect installations to meet design standards and resolve defects or discrepancies.
· Enforce safety protocols, monitor site activities, and ensure adherence to HSE regulations.
· Maintain records, prepare progress reports, and document as-built modifications.

About You
· Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
· Proven experience in assembly, erection, or construction projects, preferably in relevant industries such as utilities or large infrastructure.
· Strong understanding of engineering drawings, standards, and construction methodologies.
· Familiarity with SHEQ regulations and a track record of maintaining a safe work environment.
· Excellent problem-solving, communication and team coordination skills.
