Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a Site Engineer to join a major residential development project located just outside Cork City. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of groundworks and utilities packages on-site, ensuring technical accuracy, safety, and quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile project with a leading contractor. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil engineering, particularly in groundworks and utilities, and will be confident in setting out, supervising subcontractors, and maintaining site records.

Responsibilities:

• Set out works accurately in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and site operatives to ensure efficient workflow.
• Monitor and report on progress, quality, and safety compliance on-site.
• Liaise with the project management team to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources.
• Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, QA documentation, and as-built drawings.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and provide engineering support to the site team.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections and testing of materials and workmanship.
• Support the implementation of project-specific quality and environmental plans.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally on residential or civils projects.
• Strong knowledge of groundworks and utilities installation.
• Proficient in setting out using GPS, total station, and other surveying equipment.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
