Job Description

Our client, a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor, is currently seeking a Site Engineer to join their team based in Dublin Port. This is a long-term position on a major infrastructure project that plays a key role in the development of Dublin’s transport and logistics network. The successful candidate will be involved in the day-to-day engineering operations on site, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency across all phases of the project.

The preferred candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in the construction or engineering sector, with a strong understanding of site operations, setting out, and technical reporting. A strong remuneration package is on offer, including:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Setting out and surveying site works in accordance with project specifications.
2. Assisting in the planning and coordination of daily site activities.
3. Monitoring and reporting on progress, quality, and safety compliance.
4. Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider project team.
5. Ensuring all works are carried out in line with current health & safety standards.
6. Maintaining accurate site records, including as-builts and daily diaries.
7. Supporting the Site Manager and Project Engineer with technical input.
8. Attending site meetings and contributing to project planning discussions.
9. Assisting in the preparation of method statements and risk assessments.

Requirements:

1. Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
2. 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction or civil engineering sector.
3. Proficient in setting out using GPS, Total Station, and AutoCAD.
4. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
5. Knowledge of health & safety regulations and quality standards.
6. Ability to work on large-scale infrastructure projects in a fast-paced environment.
