Job Description

Our client is seeking a Site Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale restoration project based in Offaly. This role involves overseeing groundworks activities, ensuring technical accuracy, and supporting the site team in delivering high-quality work in line with project specifications. The successful candidate will play a key role in setting out, quality control, and liaising with subcontractors and project managers.

To be successful, the preferred candidate will have strong experience in civil engineering and groundworks, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively on-site with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Set out and oversee groundworks activities in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
2. Monitor and record site progress, ensuring works are completed to required standards.
3. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to coordinate daily site operations.
4. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
5. Conduct quality checks and implement corrective actions where necessary.
6. Assist in the preparation of site reports, documentation, and records.
7. Support the project manager in achieving key milestones and deadlines.
8. Resolve technical issues and provide engineering input on-site.
9. Attend site meetings and contribute to planning and coordination efforts.

Role Requirements:

1. Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a Site Engineer role, ideally with groundworks experience.
3. Strong understanding of construction methodologies and technical drawings.
4. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple site activities.
6. Full driving licence and willingness to travel between Offaly and Kildare.
