Job Title: Site Document Controller/Administrator

Reporting to Skeena’s Document Control lead and Field Engineering Manager. This role involves a blend of administrative duties, document control, and Admin site support who is responsible for:

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Site Document Controller/Administrator

  • Receive, record, and distribute relevant documents such as design drawings, as construction drawings, shop drawings, contracts, technical specifications.
  • Work closely with both internal and external parties such as contractors, subcontractors, consultants, to receive and distribute project documentation.
  • Follow the project document control system, ensuring that all site documents are properly filed, organized, and easily retrievable both electronically and in hard copy.
  • Track and continuously monitor document revisions to ensure all updates are accurate, properly approved, and that the latest versions are used on site at all times.
  • Communicate all document changes effectively with the related team members.
  • Generate documentation status reports for management and relevant project teams.
  • Maintain close daily coordination with field engineers, QA/QC teams, and construction area managers to ensure only the latest approved drawings and documents are implemented on site.
  • Actively engage and provide day-to-day administrative and document control support to the site management and construction team.
  • Maintain accurate filing within Aconex for redline markups, as-built drawings, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), RFIs (Requests for Information), FCNs (Field Change Notices), MIRs, submittals, and other construction-related documentation.
  • Ensure and maintain the distribution of the latest approved controlled hard copies of master drawings for construction site use.
  • Assist in the preparation, compilation, and organization of construction work packages and handover documentation as required.

Administrative Duties:

  • Perform general administrative support including document filing, formatting, and distribution.
  • Coordinate with document control as required while ensuring proper version control and archiving of technical and project documents.
  • Maintain and update internal tracking systems and shared project folders.
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned.

The Ideal Candidate

Education / Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in engineering technology, business administration, or a related field is preferred.

Experience / Skills

  • A minimum of three years of experience in a project admin and document control role.
  • Collaborative team player with an exceptionally proactive mindset.
  • Familiarity with engineering and construction terminology and workflows.
  • Experience with Aconex and SharePoint.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and comfortable making recommendations.
  • Capability to work in a self-directed manner and possess good time management skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to support reporting, and communication between various stakeholders.

Work Location & Conditions

This is a site‑based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. The position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.

Additionally, the job is in a fast paced, and at times stressful working environment, with having to manage multiple competing priorities.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is CA$80,000-$110,000 in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines, and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
