ABOUT FKO:
For Kids Only Afterschool (FKO) is a non-profit, out-of-school time provider based in 17 locations throughout five cities. With a mission to support the holistic needs of children, FKO fully believes learning extends well beyond the classroom, and OST Educators are a key component to building life-long learning skills.
The Site Director will believe in the overall mission and goals of FKO, serve as a leader within the program and collaborate with parents, caregivers, teachers/faculty, and local community groups. The Site Director will report to the District Director of Programs.
Site Director Responsibilities
The overall responsibility of the Site Director is to manage and lead the day-to-day administration of the program and supervision of all children enrolled/staff employed, while ensuring program is in compliance with EEC regulations and FKO policies and procedures. Specific responsibilities include:
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree preferred, in a related field
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Minimum of two years’ experience working with school-age children in a supervisory role;
Minimum of 20 years old
Knowledge of children's physical, emotional, and developmental patterns;
Knowledge of Massachusetts Common Core Standards, general learning theories and curriculum development and EEC school age licensing;
Demonstrate professional skills in the areas of curriculum planning; in-service training; program goal setting; federal, state and city funding sources; and establishing procedures for evaluating the progress of individual children and staff;
Ability to travel for meetings, trainings, workshops;
Willing to accept other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Founded by a teacher and working parent who joined together to start an afterschool program for their local community in 1984, FKO now operates school-year and summer programs in Chelsea, Everett, Peabody, Revere, and Winthrop, Massachusetts. FKO targets its programming toward children from diverse backgrounds including low-income, academically underperforming, socially isolated, and at-risk youth. FKO’s innovative programs offer children a chance to explore new ideas, learn collaboratively with peers, and acquire new skills, while promoting self-confidence, social and emotional development, and positive relationship building.
