The Site Director is a key leadership role within the Global Supply organization reporting to the Chief Global Supply Officer and is responsible for the leadership of an approximately 600-person food processing plant, which is one of three manufacturing plants in Blue Diamond Growers’ operations network. The Site Director ensures success criteria are met in the key focus areas of Safety, Quality, Service, Performance, and People in a production environment. This role is responsible for leading and developing the Salida Plant Leadership Team, ensuring each department has the proper goals established and the needed resources to deliver the annual operating plan. The Site Director will collaborate cross-functionally at all levels of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Leads a “Zero Harm” culture that ensures personal safety and food safety objectives are achieved.
  • Ensures the highest quality supply to customers and consumers while minimizing total delivered cost.
  • Leads Operations, Distribution and Crop Receiving, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Health and Safety, to deliver strategic and tactical plan goals, including daily execution of site metrics for safety, quality, productivity, costs, and service.
  • Wins hearts and minds of team members through real-time communication, feedback, and coaching to leaders and team members through regular floor presence, roundtable meetings, and other team member engagements.
  • Fosters an environment of continuous improvement and learning across all key focus areas to achieve and maintain industry leadership.
  • Develops and coach site leadership team in a manner that delivers sustainable results in keeping with Blue Diamond Leadership model; partner to attract, retain and grow bench strength in key roles.
  • Provides clear direction for the Salida Plant Leadership Team and Salida Site as well as dedicate time to individual and team growth and development on a continuous basis.
  • Champions systems and process controls for efficient operations to increase asset utilization with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Collaborates with peer Site Directors and other Directors within Global Supply to ensure “one team” approach and operational excellence across BDG’s operations network.
  • Successfully start up major capital projects at the site
  • Partners with Supply Chain team to achieve short and long-term production requirements that meet or exceed customer demand and achieve most efficient use of all assets within the site.
  • Provides enterprise-wide leadership and actively participate as a member of the BDG Senior Leadership Team.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Operations related discipline
  • 15 years or greater of progressive manufacturing or related operations leadership experience
  • Experience collaborating within an Operations network that has multiple sites
  • CPG experience
  • Proven track record of driving change and improving performance by increasing employee engagement
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement principles
  • Strong leader with high interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills; demonstrated ability to apply strategic thinking to create and implement practical solutions to issues
  • Ability to communicate and partner effectively with all levels of the organization and cross-functionally

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Experience running a stand-alone plant
  • Food manufacturing experience
  • Experience starting up large capital projects

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 6-15

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, wear PPE, maneuver through tight spots within an industrial environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Position may require employee to work around energized equipment and is routinely exposed to hazardous materials. Position may require the exposure to various adverse conditions such as, heat, cold, noise, dust, fumes, dirt, and grease, and chemical substance.
