Job Description

Head Start Birth-5 has an opening for a non-exempt full-time Site Director working 35 hours a week year-round. The Site Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the assigned Head Start Birth-5 Center, exercising independent judgment and decision-making authority as delegated, including procedures and staff supervision. Under general supervision, the Site Director operates the Head Start Birth-5 program in conformance with the ACF Head Start Program Performance Standards, State Child Care Licensing, and LHDC Policies and Procedures.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Management, Human Resources or correlated discipline; Associate Degree in a related field will be considered if willing to further education. Supervisory experience required. Proficient in computer systems and functions, including Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint), Internet, and email usage. LHDC may provide on the job training to obtain the appropriate credentials if necessary.

Must meet Head Start and Indiana Childcare Licensing Regulations, including Head Start Standards of Conduct, federal and state criminal history requirements, sex offender registry checks, drug screen, physical and complete an annual T.B. test.

The Lincoln Hills Development Corporation (LHDC) was founded in 1965 to serve the citizens of southern Indiana, primarily in Crawford, Harrison, Perry, and Spencer Counties. The agency is funded through a combination of federal, state, and local resources. The primary objective of LHDC is to provide self-help and self-sufficiency opportunities for the low-income citizens of the service area, while continually striving to address the unmet service needs.

LHDC is governed by a Board of Directors composed of representatives of the low income, representatives of the private sector, and public officials. The various programs administered by LHDC are guided by policy and advisory councils made up of local volunteers.
