Job Description

General Purpose:

Support the day-to-day financial activities of the Operations Finance department as related to financial reporting, budgeting, inventory and month-end close duties, monthly plant expense analysis, and forecasting activities for the plant. Partner with plant operations to understand financial impacts of KPI’s and to ensure accurate, timely, and meaningful plant operations’ reporting and analysis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze reports for the business units and ensure that all business unit financial reporting is accurate according to currently accepted financial practices
  • Obtain, review, and assemble data for financial reports as requested by leadership, including Market Administrator Report
  • Participate in cross-functional plant teams and collaborate with other departments to complete financial activities, as needed, and improve processes and efficiencies
    • Example – plant DMS meetings
  • Participate in monthly plant business review meetings
  • Provide support for new product rollouts and capital project payback analysis
  • Post transactions in SAP, including change order price analysis (COPA) reconciliations, inventory revaluation, and adjustments
  • Partner with Dairy Powders finance to ensure standardized reporting across manufacturing
  • Partner with Dairy Powders leadership to centralize KPI reporting across all the manufacturing network providing insights on key drivers
  • Analyze and report on plant fixed and variable costs, KPI reports, and productivity initiatives
  • Lead for financial analysis for the site
  • Assist with plant capacity activities
  • Distribute monthly operations reports
  • Participate in monthly operations call and lead review of plant financial report
  • Analyze plant data to be used in financial analysis
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
  • Perform plant month-end close duties as required
  • Analyze plant balance sheet accounts
  • Lead plant budget and forecast activities, in collaboration with Dairy Powders finance
  • Perform plant cost accounting analysis
  • Participate in and assist with special projects as directed
  • Identify, recommend improvements, and automate accounting functions with SAP, PBI and offline processes. Document findings, areas for improvement, and procedures. Provide support to plant personnel on all SAP financial accounting issues

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar discipline
  • 5 years of financial and/or accounting experience, preferably in a food manufacturing organization
  • 2+ years of SAP experience preferred
  • Certification and/or License – N/A

5%-15% (1-3 times per year)
