Hiring for Site Construction Engineer

Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the design and/or construction supervision of dam and water resources projects.

We are seeking a qualified Site Construction Engineer to support the execution, supervision, and monitoring of dam construction and rehabilitation activities. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that construction works are carried out in accordance with approved designs, technical specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day construction activities at the project site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure timely execution of dam and associated infrastructure works.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders for effective site execution.
  • Review construction methodologies, work schedules, and resource deployment to ensure efficient project implementation.
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities.
  • Verify measurements, work quantities, and contractor bills in accordance with contract provisions.
  • Identify construction issues and provide technical recommendations for timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements during construction activities.
  • Maintain site records, daily progress reports, inspection reports, and construction documentation.
  • Assist in reviewing technical drawings, design modifications, and site instructions as required.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure smooth implementation of project activities.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the design and/or construction of dam, irrigation, hydraulic, or other major civil engineering infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in site supervision, construction monitoring, and quality control of civil works.
  • Knowledge of construction methodologies, engineering specifications, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance procedures, construction safety practices, and project documentation.
  • Proficiency in preparing site reports, progress reports, and construction records.
  • Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Criteria

  • Experience in dam construction, rehabilitation, or other water resources infrastructure projects will be preferred.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC conditions of contract and construction supervision practices is desirable.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent tools will be an added advantage.
  • Experience working on Government or internationally funded infrastructure projects will be preferred.
