The role is full-time and site-based, Monday to Friday, with a planned start in November 2026. You will oversee contractors on site through enabling works, main construction and commissioning, supporting the Site Manager and Resident Civil Engineer to deliver the project safely, to a high standard and in line with the contract. The ideal candidate has strong site management experience on energy infrastructure projects and a good working knowledge of FIDIC contracts.

Benefits

  • Business travel expenses reimbursed when agreed in advance
  • Hard hat and ear defenders provided where required
  • November 2026 start

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor and supervise all on-site contractor activities through enabling works, main construction and commissioning.
  • Support the Site Manager and Resident Civil Engineer in administering contracts with the main contractors.
  • Ensure strong compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, with a focus on the specific challenges of solar site construction.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for the Site Manager and wider project team.
  • Take part in reviews of Inspection Test Plans and carry out quality inspections of civil works.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders to keep the project on track.
  • Resolve on-site issues quickly with the Site Manager and project team.
  • Keep accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, inspections and incident reports.

Requirements

  • Level 8 Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' civil engineering experience, including construction site management on energy infrastructure projects.
  • Good working knowledge of FIDIC contracts and contract administration.
  • Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders and authorities.
  • Strong communication, report writing and IT skills.
  • Full EU/EEA driving licence, access to a car and legal permission to work in Ireland.
  • Up-to-date SafePass and manual handling training.
  • Own phone, laptop and internet access.

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a Site Resident Civil Engineer or Site Manager on energy utility projects.
  • Experience as PSCS on construction projects.
  • Chartered status with a recognised professional body.
  • A project management qualification.
