This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Site Budgeting and Contracting Specialist - FSP based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to support global clinical research operations by managing site budgeting activities and contract negotiations across complex studies.
The position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial planning, compliant agreements, and timely study start-up execution.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, clinical sites, legal partners, and study stakeholders in a global environment.
The role requires strong expertise in clinical trial agreements, budget development, and site-facing negotiations.
You will contribute to process improvements, operational efficiency, and the successful delivery of clinical trials.

Accountabilities:

    The Site Budgeting and Contracting Specialist will be responsible for supporting clinical trial start-up activities by developing site budgets, managing contract negotiations, and ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures.

    • Develop and manage Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs), financial exhibits, and related documentation using approved templates and study-specific requirements.
    • Support negotiations with clinical trial sites, institutions, and external stakeholders to ensure agreements are executed within required timelines.
    • Build country site budgets, study financial appendices, payment terms, and budget templates while ensuring alignment with fair market value guidance.
    • Review and assess contract language changes, collaborating with legal teams and relevant stakeholders to resolve compliance or negotiation issues.
    • Maintain accurate contract tracking databases, documentation records, approval forms, and audit-ready files throughout the study lifecycle.
    • Partner with clinical operations, study start-up teams, payment teams, and internal stakeholders to improve site budgeting and contracting processes.
    • Monitor contract and budget progress, identify potential delays, and proactively escalate issues to support timely study execution.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by applying industry standards, tools, and best practices across projects and portfolios.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical research, healthcare, or pharmaceutical environments, with strong expertise in site budgeting and contract negotiations.

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent scientific, business, or commercial higher vocational education.
      • Minimum of 2 years of site budget and contract negotiation experience within a Contract Research Organization (CRO) environment.
      • At least 2 years of experience developing global budget templates and supporting international clinical studies.
      • Direct experience working with clinical trial sites and site-facing stakeholders.
      • Strong understanding of Clinical Trial Agreements, contract terminology, and negotiation processes.
      • Ability to interpret contractual requirements and collaborate effectively with legal, clinical, and operational teams.
      • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a global, deadline-driven environment.
      • Proficiency with clinical research systems, databases, and standard office software tools.
