Our Vadodara site has been producing large power transformers, Shunt reactors & HVDC transformers from its state of the art manufacturing facility, making it one of the largest suppliers of 765 KV large power transformers in India.

As a Site AI Partner (AI/ML Engineer), you will identify and evaluate site-specific opportunities for artificial intelligence and machine learning, implement proofs of concept (PoCs), and successfully deploy solutions into operations – with clear, measurable business impact. You will work closely with the PT Central AI Team and the DT Central Team (Digital IT/OT), ensure integration into existing systems (e.g., ERP/MES/PLM), and empower teams as Site AI Partners. This role requires close collaboration with various functions and stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and ensure the successful integration and scaling of AI solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Opportunity Identification Identify AI/ML use cases with high impact potential, translate business needs into clear problem statements with benefit hypotheses and success criteria, assess feasibility (data, compliance, IT/OT), and maintain a prioritized use case backlog.
  • End-to-End AI/ML Development (PoCs/MVPs) Explore and prepare data, create features, implement PoCs according to predefined standards/playbooks, and document reproducibly.
  • Solution Deployment & Integration Scale successful PoCs (Proof-of-concept) at the site level; coordinate integration with enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, MES, PLM/Windchill) in consultation with DT Central.
  • Stakeholder Partnership Serve as the interface between operational departments and Digital/IT; align requirements, prepare and conduct gate reviews; ensure seamless collaboration with central and local stakeholders.
  • Technical Excellence & Best Practices Technical documentation, model reports, and knowledge sharing; adherence to quality, information security, and data protection guidelines.
  • AMP 2.0 (Internal AI platform) Site Partner Empowering teams to use AMP 2.0 (features, templates, best practices), conducting training sessions/workshops and office hours, and providing user-oriented guidance.
  • Continuous Learning Monitoring relevant developments in AI/ML and GenAI and pragmatically integrating suitable approaches into projects.
  • Lean/Kaizen Facilitating and providing technical support for Kaizen workshops; utilizing AI-supported analyses for potential improvement; tracking the implementation and effectiveness of measures.

Requirements:

  • Completed Bachelor's/master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the industrial application of AI/ML (PoCs, initial deployments) and in collaboration with business units and IT/OT.
  • Skill set in Python, Deep learning & generative AI.
  • Data & Integration: SQL, working with structured/unstructured data, APIs/ETL, data quality checks; integration with enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, MES, PLM/Windchill); visualization (Power BI/Tableau).
  • Lean/Kaizen expertise, including facilitating workshops/events.
  • Languages: Fluent in English.

Soft Skills & Characteristics:

  • Excellent collaboration in cross-functional teams and with external partners.
  • Clear, audience-appropriate communication; ability to present technical content in an understandable way.
  • Analytical strength and pragmatic problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of project management, including agile methodologies.
