Simulator Technician I shall serve as the technical interface to the on-site customer (Operations and Maintenance) in resolving issues arising from maintenance or modification activities for all matters dealing with simulation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Simulator Technician I shall have demonstrated experience and competence to complete job duties in at least four (4) of the following areas:

  • Computer system interfaces
  • Video display systems
  • Digital-to-analog conversion
  • Acoustic simulation
  • Digital interface
  • High-density cable and plug repair
  • High-frequency and ultra-high-frequency transceiver operation & repair
  • Basic Digital Multi-Meter (DMM)
  • Cable fabrication and installation
  • Basic PC troubleshooting and repair

Simulator Technician I shall also have demonstrated experience and competence to complete job duties in at least three (3) the following areas:

  • Solid-state power supplies
  • High voltage deflection amplifiers repair
  • Digital Audio Tape (DAT) drive repair
  • High-frequency transmitter repair
  • Computer output ports, serial and parallel
  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on TS/E

Required Education and Experience

  • Educational requirement not specified.
  • Experience and competence in areas as set forth above required.
  • Prior experience performing simulator maintenance technician duties in a military or similar setting required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Forklift certification (as required).
  • Security + Plus Certification (mandatory), or able to obtain within 6 months.

  • Eligible and obtain (if required) a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
  • Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures.
  • Obtain and maintain a Security+ certification or similar certification, if required.
  • In order for a technician to be granted access to root directories the technician must be IAT Level II qualified.
  • Should the technician require privileged access in the performance of their work, they shall, at a minimum, be qualified at IAT Level II.
  • May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Employee shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees not having a need to-know authorization. Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval. Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information.

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex words and technical documents/diagrams. Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.

Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to detect odors, noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect discrepancies of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • Must be able to perform Domestic and International travel as required.
  • Shop floor environment.
  • Will be working in areas with risk of injury from electrical applications, moving mechanical parts, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems under pressure and electrical motion systems.
  • May be exposed to conditions of extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises
