The role

As a Simulator Operator, you'll support the delivery of world-class submarine command and ship control training within specialist simulator environments. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the development of highly skilled personnel who play a critical role in UK defence operations.

Day-to-day you'll be required to:

  • Operate specialist simulator systems to create realistic submarine command and ship control training scenarios.
  • Support instructors and trainees during exercises to ensure training activities are delivered effectively.
  • Monitor simulator performance and assisting with the smooth delivery of training sessions.
  • Complete training administration, reports, records and documentation to meet contractual requirements.
  • Support quality management and data management activities by maintaining accurate records and reporting information.

The role is based onsite at HMNB Clyde, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37 hours per week.

Essential experience of the Simulator Operator:

  • Experience working within a training environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent team-working and relationship-building skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competence using Microsoft Office and other IT systems.

Qualifications for the Simulator Operator:

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
