The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is seeking a full-time APRN and Health Sciences Simulation Operations Manager to help to provide the APRN (advanced practice registered nurse) and health science programs with an exceptional simulation experience. You will coordinate all operational aspects of the simulation center for the advanced practice registered nurses and the health sciences. What you will do:
Oversees day-to-day operations of the simulations and on campus events (space, schedules, readiness).
Work directly with the Program Leads of the APRN and Health Sciences Programs to support the on campus events and simulation learning environment for learners, faculty, and staff in the Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Programs, the Health Sciences programs, learners, faculty and staff participating in simulation and laboratory skill curriculum.
Manages simulation assets: manikins, task trainers, standardized patient program resources, AV/recording, and supplies.
Serves as primary liaison for all equipment in the simulation center to ensure operational readiness, troubleshooting and repair and maintenance; provides technical operational support for all simulations systems and equipment related to immersive simulation.
Responsible for supervision, support, goal setting, training, and coaching of assigned staff.
Collaborates with the OCE faculty coordinators and simulation coordinator in the recruitment, development, and training of the simulation standardized patient program.
Responsible for ensuring the training for standardized patients and any new simulation staff/adjunct faculty. To Keep all training manuals up to date.
Maintain and revise as needed operational policies for the simulation center to ensure protocols are in place to meet accreditation purposes; recommend any changes in operational procedures/guidelines to program leads.
Leads staffing model for simulation operations (techs, coordinators, SP staff, student workers/instructor assistants where applicable).
Establishes any new vendor relationships, sustains existing relationships and manages all service contracts (maintenance, warranties, software licensing).
Maintain medical waste disposal with contracted medical waste groups.
Promote OSHA, HIPPA, and FERPA compliance within the CONHCP Simulation Center and for all nursing students, faculty and staff.
Oversee budgeting inputs: annual supply forecasting, replacement planning, cost-per-event tracking.
Ensures compliance with institutional requirements (privacy, recording consent, accessibility accommodations, risk management).
Coordinates center-wide training requirements (equipment/manikin competency, CAE platform basics, safety).
Leads continuous improvement: after-action reviews, issue tracking, and workflow refinements.
Ensures data flow: collects assessment forms, verifies completeness, supports exports/reporting as assigned.
Reports measured metrics (SET-M, meet and greet documents to Associate Dean and Program leads/Director).
Maintain timeline, tracking, and scheduling of scenario revisions required for accreditation and ongoing quality improvement.
Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University

What you need:
Bachelor’s degree in science, health care field preferred.
Certification through the Society of Simulation in Healthcare preferred or willing to obtain within 12 months of hire date.
Experience developing and running simulation scenarios highly preferred.
Must successfully pass a background check.
Must be able to work occasional weekends and/or evenings as needed.
