We are seeking a highly motivated Simulation Engineer to join our Transmission Control Engineering team.

This role is responsible for developing and executing simulation strategies to support the design, validation, and optimization of powertrain components and subsystems. The successful candidate will collaborate across engineering disciplines to analyze component behavior under realistic transmission, thermal, and vehicle operating conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead simulation and analysis of hydraulic circuits within transmission and thermal control systems.
  • Develop simulation work packages aligned with Product Engineering (PE) methodologies.
  • Perform 1D hydraulic simulations to propose and validate product designs using advanced simulation tools and standards.
  • Analyze and optimize electro-hydraulic solenoids to improve system performance such as, but not limited to, pressure oscillation mitigation.
  • Conduct simulations in accordance with project specifications, cost targets, and timelines.
  • Support testing activities by interpreting product functionality, failure modes, and performance data.
  • Present simulation results and insights to internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Evaluate technical specifications to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Continuously improve simulation tools and methodologies to enhance design feasibility and efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging simulation technologies and tools.
  • Promote and ensure adherence to safety standards and proactively identify unsafe conditions.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Master’s degree in a specialized field such as Thermofluids is considered a plus.

Professional Experience:

  • 2–3 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in simulation or product development roles.
  • Proven experience (2–3 years) in developing simulation models, desirable in hydraulic systems. Magnetic systems are considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with product testing and validation processes.
  • Hands-on experience with CAE/CFD tools is highly desirable.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and fluid mechanics (2–3 years of experience).
  • Basic knowledge of magnetic systems; at least 1 year of relevant experience is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret and work with electrical and hydraulic schematics.

Software & Simulation Tools:

  • Familiarity with AMESim is desired.
  • Experience with OptisLang is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of structural mechanics modeling (FEA).
  • Competent with programming languages and scripting (e.g., Python, VBA, Excel macros) is advantageous.

Languages:

  • Advanced English proficiency is strictly required.
  • German language skills are a plus.
