Hello Visionary!

We empower our people to stay resilient and relevant in a constantly changing world. We’re looking for people who are always searching for creative ways to grow and learn. People who want to make a real impact, now and in the future. Does that sound like you? Then it seems like you’d make an outstanding addition to our vibrant team. Siemens Mobility is an independent run company of Siemens AG. Its core business includes rail vehicles, rail automation and electrification solutions, turnkey systems, intelligent road traffic technology and related services. In Mobility, we help our customers meet the need for hard-working mobility solutions. We’re making the lives of people who travel easier and more enjoyable while constantly developing new, intelligent mobility solutions!

We are looking for Simulation Developer – Power Transmission

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Simulation Developer to establish and maintain virtual test environments for power transmission in rail vehicle projects from day one. In this role, you will help accelerate system integration, reduce release risks, and enable fast feedback for software and engineering teams.

You will work with standardized simulation models from our solution pool and configure, adapt, and automate simulations for the integration of drive and brake systems, including hybrid approaches, as part of a holistic train system.

This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in MATLAB/Simulink, simulation environments like Ni Veristand/LabView, and rail vehicle architectures.

You’ll make a difference by

  • Set up simulation environments from scratch for rail vehicle projects.
  • Configure, adapt, and automate simulations for system integration of drive, brake, auxiliary, and hybrid systems.
  • Maintain, modify, and update models in SiL and HiL environments.
  • Ensure smooth operation, usability, and integration of simulation environments.
  • Validate simulation models and ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Support scaling of simulations from Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) to Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) and full-train simulation environments.
  • Collaborate with project teams, software teams, and system engineering teams to exchange models, interfaces, and build artifacts.
  • Improve existing workflows and proactively implement automation and process enhancements.
  • Collect feedback to continuously improve simulation usability.
  • Support test automation solutions and ensure reliable integration with simulation platforms.
  • Knowledge of EN 50716 tool qualification.
  • Experience with battery systems for rolling stock applications.
  • Experience in rail domain simulation, vehicle control systems, or embedded software testing.
  • Familiarity with full-train simulation concepts and hybrid simulation approaches.

Tools and Platforms

Experience with one or more of the following tools is highly desirable:

  • MATLAB / Simulink
  • NI VeriStand/LabView
  • Polarion

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8 Years of industry experience in simulation, model-based development, rail systems, or embedded software testing will also be considered.
  • Strong modeling and simulation skills, particularly with MATLAB/Simulink and NI Veristand/LabView.
  • Very Good understanding of SiL and HiL simulation environments.
  • Strong understanding of train configurations and vehicle architectures.
  • Knowledge of interfaces between control units across:
    • Traction systems
    • Brake systems
    • Auxiliary systems
    • Battery systems
  • Experience with communication protocols such as:
    • CAN
    • TRDP
    • PROFINET / PN
    • MVB
  • Experience in maintaining and validating simulation models.
  • Familiarity with test automation and integration workflows.
